Press article: ST MICHAEL and All Angels Catholic Primary School is described as a good school which has improved over recent years in its latest Ofsted report. The school in Wombwell , Barnsley, provides a very caring environment where all pupils are valued and the school was graded as being good in all areas, including overall effectiveness, achievement and standards, personal development and wellbeing, teaching and learning and leadership and management. The report finds the school to be happy and says pupils value their close sense of community which makes them feel safe and secure. They get on well with each other, and minority groups of pupils, such as children from the Traveller community and pupils for whom English is and additional language, are fully integrated within the school. Chair of Governors, Kath Cragg said: “The governing body are very pleased at the excellent report on the school’s performance and achievement. The efforts put into the school by teaching and support staff, plus the governing body in their supporting role, has been fully justified by this report.” Headteacher, Peter Davison commented: “I am very pleased that the hard work of all members of the school community has been rewarded with such a positive report.”
